On today’s show, Jeremy is joined by lead OneDrive engineer, Michael Connolly, to explain the recent changes and announcements around OneDrive for Business. They talk about the trends and events leading up to the standalone offer, hybrid support for SharePoint on premises and everything leading up to Monday’s announcement of 1 terabyte storage per user.

If you wanted proof that the Microsoft Cloud and Office 365 continuously innovate, take this week’s show topic as an example. We filmed this show during SharePoint Conference last month and announced a long list of enhancements to OneDrive for Business. Not only was the standalone offer announced and the user experience improved, but SharePoint 2013 SP1 also enabled a new hybrid option to allow on premises SharePoint 2013 to link seamlessly with Office 365-based OneDrive for Business storage. Fast forward just a few weeks later and now all users of OneDrive for Business get a terabyte of storage and Office 365 ProPlus standalone also includes OneDrive for Business with the same 1TB storage per user. This is huge and shows the pace of innovation.

On this show, Michael Connolly and I look at the usage trends of OneDrive for Business and all of the enhancements for users to simplify the experience. Of course all of this storage and flexibility means the administration experience need the controls to match. Michael walks through the end user experience of OneDrive for Business, modern attachment capabilities and cross-device experiences on iPad and in the browser. To see all of this in action, you’ll need to watch the show.

Next time we’ll take a deeper look at Exchange as we bring back Bharat Suneja for a whirlwind tour of what’s new in the world of Exchange and SP1 for admins.
