In a rapid change of Office 365, Microsoft sends to Tenant Admin’s the news about what is changing and what is coming in Office 365.

This is the 426th email that Microsoft has sent to Tenant Admin’s Newsletter with Office 365 changes.

Several major feature retirements and transitions are scheduled: “Deploy Shifts to your frontline teams at scale” retires September 5, 2025; Power BI Cognitive Services and Azure Machine Learning features retire September 15, 2025; Search-MailboxAuditLog and New-MailboxAuditLogSearch cmdlets retire by December 2025; classic Power Platform admin center ends support September 3, 2025.

Key required actions and deadlines include updating Conditional Access policies for Azure DevOps by September 4, 2025, updating Microsoft 365 Office apps to versions higher than 16.0.18827.20202 by January 2026 (March 2026 for GCC/GCC High/DoD), and updating custom scripts for Microsoft Graph Beta API by late October 2025.

New and enhanced features rolling out include: Copilot Chat and Copilot features in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote (mid-August 2025); enhanced personalization in Copilot (September 2025); new map-based desk booking in Microsoft Places (mid-August 2025); and improved SharePoint Page Analytics (mid-August 2025).

Several admin and compliance improvements are announced, such as new admin controls for Copilot Search (July 2025), enhanced IRM alert workflow in Purview (August 2025), and on-demand file classification in Purview (public preview mid-August 2025, GA mid-November 2025).

Notable Teams and Outlook updates include: new threaded conversation layout (June–August 2025), People Hub improvements (late 2025), name pronunciation on profile cards (full availability by August 2025), and offline file attachment support in Outlook (mid-August to mid-October 2025).

Additional updates include: Viva Learning data export (mid–late July 2025), new Copilot Studio

Quickly access relevant information and functionality from the new home page—The home page has been redesigned with you and your most common tasks in mind—such as adding a user or resetting a password. The new admin center makes these items accessible directly from the home page. The home page also proactively surfaces information important to you, such as notifications from the Message Center.
