In a rapid change of Office 365, Microsoft sends to Tenant Admin’s the news about what is changing and what is coming in Office 365.

 

This is the 411th email that Microsoft has sent to Tenant Admin’s Newsletter with Office 365 changes.

Microsoft 365 Message center announced several updates and changes to Microsoft services between April 14, 2025, and April 20, 2025.
Major updates include the retirement of the option to open files in classic Microsoft Teams due to security vulnerabilities, new admin controls and user file uploads for Microsoft 365 Copilot, and the deprecation of Exchange Web Services in Exchange Online.
Microsoft Teams will feature a Facilitator agent for real-time notes in meetings, and the EEEU sharing permission will be removed from OneDrive’s root site and default document library.
Microsoft OneDrive will transition unlicensed accounts to read-only mode and archive them, and users are urged to migrate to OneNote on Windows as OneNote for Windows 10 will reach end of support.
Microsoft Exchange Online will introduce a new limit for dynamic distribution groups, and SharePoint Online will remove retired DISCO and WSDL web pages.
Microsoft Teams will retire the “Code snippets” feature and Microsoft Purview will retire Classic Content Search and Classic eDiscovery (Standard) Cases.
Microsoft 365 apps will prompt users to back up their files in OneDrive, and Power Platform admin center will introduce new features for viewing usage and value metrics.
Other updates include bi-directional calendar syncing between Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams, enhancements to Insider Risk Management, changes to shared mailboxes in Outlook, and new features for town halls in Teams.
Important dates include the rollout of various features starting in April 2025, May 2025, and June 2025.
