Microsoft 365 Message center announced multiple service updates and feature changes for Microsoft 365, including major retirements, new features, and important deadlines between August and December 2025.

Key retirements include the web-based “Share to Teams” feature in Outlook (September 22–October 3, 2025), Tonal Rewrite in Outlook Web Access (September 15, 2025), and the Deception feature in Defender for Endpoint (October 31, 2025).

OneNote for Windows 10 will become read-only after October 14, 2025, and users are advised to migrate to OneNote on Windows (Microsoft 365).

Several features are rolling out or require admin/user awareness, such as Teams Meeting Join URL validation (September 30, 2025), updates to custom scripting in SharePoint (September 15, 2025), and new Teams organizer controls (August–October 2025).

Admins should prepare for changes such as Exchange Server hybrid application updates (by October 2025), Microsoft Viva Engage domain migration (September–October 2025), and planned maintenance for Data Loss Prevention (September 1–October 15, 2025).

Additional enhancements include improved file management in SharePoint, new analytics and reporting in Viva Insights, expanded Copilot Chat capabilities, and updates to Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Fabric.
