In a rapid change of Office 365, Microsoft sends to Tenant Admin’s the news about what is changing and what is coming in Office 365.

This is the 438th email that Microsoft has sent to Tenant Admin’s Newsletter with Office 365 changes.

Microsoft 365 Message center announced major updates including shared Copilot Notebooks and a new Copilot mobile app rolling out October–December 2025, unified Teams app management starting late September 2025, and app-centric management for Teams admin installation from mid-October to mid-December 2025.

Outlook will get an enhanced Copilot search pane from mid-December 2025 to mid-February 2026; Teams Shifts retires UKG and Blue Yonder connectors on November 14, 2025; Excel will block external workbook links to certain file types by default starting November 2025.

Viva Glint will enhance focus areas and retire goal periods mid- to late January 2026; SharePoint Alerts retire by July 2026, with new alert creation ending January 2026; PowerPoint’s “Reuse Slides” feature retires January 2026.

Microsoft Authenticator will block Entra credentials on jailbroken/rooted devices from February 2026; Teams will auto-set work location via Wi-Fi from December 2025; Microsoft 365 app icons are being visually refreshed from October 2025.

Microsoft 365 Copilot will use GPT-5 as the default model from October–November 2025, becoming mandatory later; Copilot will gain new features in PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, with several features rolling out between October 2025 and March 2026.

Teams introduces Channel Agent, Collaborative Notes in group chats, and emoji shortcuts, with features rolling out from September 2025 to January 2026; Teams town halls will support 1080p video from November 2025.

Admins must configure browser policy for OneDrive/SharePoint before Chromium 142 in October 2025 and set up domains for Teams Events custom HTML templates by November 17, 2025.

Quickly access relevant information and functionality from the new home page—The home page has been redesigned with you and your most common tasks in mind—such as adding a user or resetting a password. The new admin center makes these items accessible directly from the home page. The home page also proactively surfaces information important to you, such as notifications from the Message Center.
